What could be better for cutting daisies than a 155mm artillery shell?

I'm referring to the fuse used in some types of shells; they're designed to detonate before hitting the ground, clearing out a wide area, hence the nickname.

lol I know usually when I hear Daisy Cutters it's in ref to the air dropped bombs. Never heard anyone in my unit call the air burst fuses for the arty rounds Daisy Cutters.

I think I see the problem. Daisy cutter typically refers to contact fuzes that extend from the nose of the bomb, allowing it to detonate before it hits the ground, but it could also mean any form of munition dropped from a height that detonates before hitting the ground, including proximity, altimeter, timed, and rotary fuzes. I can see how they might not call the artillery shell the same name to avoid confusion.

Accept when it comes to hitting a deep bunker, of course that is why we have "Bunker Busters." lol
